Hardship Relief

Appeal My Rates UK
What is hardship relief?
This is a discretionary relief that can be applied by the council which can remove or reduce your current rates liabilities.
How do I apply?
An application needs to be submitted to the council and it must give the reasons you believe you should get hardship relief. It is very difficult to get and requires the submission of a great deal of evidence and supporting statements. Call us for advice if you think you could apply.
Do the council have to give the relief?
No. It is a discretionary relief and once the council makes its decision there is no appeal route. That is why it is best to instruct an expert to prepare the application for you but even then it is still a tough nut to crack.
What are your processes and fees?
We will gather all the evidence required to decide if you have a good case and if you do we will propose a fee based on any savings in rates payable.
